Writing Starter 67
I personally did not like the writing starters. I felt like they were busy work, which I hate. I would rather have more assignments and drop the writing starters. I don't like someone telling me what to write about when it's supposed to be "creative." By the end of the semester it just felt like I needed to put words down, and I didn't even put effort into making the writing starters something I'd be proud of. I'd never go back and read them, like I might with a short story or poem or whatever. I liked the dialogue writing starters best because they took the least time and I could make my characters say things like "ok" "cool" to take up lines. I definitely would've preferred the writing starters be optional, or extra credit, or at least scale it down to once a week or so.

I don't like cooking so I'd just roast a human since that seems pretty simple. Maybe add some barbecue sauces or spices. I'd keep it simple for sure. Maybe some grilled fingers for appetizers and for desert we could make a pudding out of intestines or something like that. How yummy.

There is was, finally. Our island. Our very own island. It looked beautiful above the waves of fog, but there was still one question to be answered: why had they sold it to us for only $5? We kept that in mind as we ventured inward. Suddenly, out jumped a giant, growling dog. He devoured us. The last thought I had before my death was, "yeah that's probably why it only cost $5." The end.

What if humans were arthropods, meaning they had skeletons on the outside? What would change about our lives and the world around us? Consider: sports, fashion, surgery, the way we treat each other, etc.
Fashion would definitely be different. Surgery would be easier, and would likely have more risks. Humans would be much more brittle, since we wouldn't have cushioning protecting our important parts. Coming from someone in this society, I think we'd look gross, but if that was the way we normally were, I'm sure no one would think that. I think the biggest changes would be with the physical activity level we were able to safely maintain. Sports like football and hockey would likely be obsolete or would be responsible for many deaths every year.

Dear stranger,
I know what you're going through is hard. Writing starters are like a small fly, buzzing around your day. They get in the way and refuse to stop until you think you may just go crazy. But it's okay. I've been where you are. I have got through these pesky beasts, and I'm here to tell you that you will get through them eventually. They may be annoying, but they will end with the semester. It's just a giant waiting game. You will survive, and you will prosper.
Love, Alex

What are your four bars this Friday?
When I walked into school this morning, I let out a moan
I really, really really really wanna go home
I'm tired of waking up at 6:00 AM
And I really, really, really really don't wanna wake up that early again.

Final project proposal
Name: Alex Maser
Creative Writing Final project proposal
1. What kind of writing do you think youʼll do for your final project? (Circle one.)
Continuation of a previous story (which one): Continuation of the one act play, except I am going to tell it from the perspective of the villan
Why do you think this will be a good project to work on? In other words, why did you choose this option? (3-5 sentences) I enjoyed this project. I liked where I went with it but wasn't sure where I wanted to go at the time. I want to continue onto the end of the story, and maybe add a few things in the middle. I am going to tell it from the opposite perspective
Give a brief summary/outline/explanation of the story, poems or play you will write. If you are going to do a series of poems, just choose one to write about here:
Main character:
Shane Anderson
Setting: High school party, A court room
Flaw of main character: Shane date rapes a girl and has to go through the legal system
Quest or journey of the main character: He wants to not go to jail for the rape, but also has to deal with other personal issues which may show some growth
Lesson to be learned from the story: rape is bad
Brief plot summary: There is a rape at a high school party. Then the play takes you to a court house for the trial of the rapist. This play will be told from the perspective of the rapist, and will focus on a more pro-Shane viewpoint and a less pro-Annabelle viewpoint. To illustrate how there are always two sides to a story.
