To Lilly

I am sorry, doggy, that I wouldn't play ball with you last night

I was very tired

I had a long day at school

My legs exhausted, my back in fits of pain

All I wanted to do was sleep

But you,

You cute little dog,

Just wanted to play

I wished I had the energy to appease you

Tail wagging,

Eyes pleading,

Ears perky,

Waiting

Next time,

I will play with you

Even if its just for

5 minutes, or 10

Because I know how happy it makes you

And you are so adorable when you're happy

and you cuddle with me afterwards
